US stock indices closed higher yesterday

US stocks closed higher at the end of yesterday's trading, to accompany their indices to the upside ; The Dow Jones index rose by 1.58%, while the Standard Poor 500 index closed at an increase of 1.43%, and the Nasdaq index rose by 1.26%.

 

Gains were recorded in several sectors, the most important of which are the oil and natural gas sectors, the public institutions sector, and the technology sector.

 

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Nikkei index rose at the beginning of trading today, as it climbed by 0.81%, to reach 28067.37 points. While the broader Topix index rose by 0.83%, to reach 1973.57 points.

 

Crude oil futures rose to be traded in January at a price of $74.01 a barrel, and according to the New York Mercantile Exchange, oil contracts rose by 1.15%.

 

On the other hand, gold futures contracts decreased by 0.03%, to be traded in February at a price of $1792.75 an ounce.
