Oil extends its gains and the yellow metal retreats

Oil prices rose today, Wednesday, to extend their gains since the beginning of this week, as :

US Nymex light crude rose by more than 1%, or the equivalent of $0.9 per barrel, after its earlier gains exceeded 1.6%, to trade at the highest levels of $76 per barrel.

The benchmark Brent crude increased at a slower pace, as it increased by 0.5%, to trade at the highest levels of $80 per barrel, reaching levels of $80.3 per barrel.

The US Energy Information Administration is expected to release official data today.

 

On the other hand, gold futures contracts decreased by 0.01%, according to Comex classification, gold futures contracts were traded at $1825.25 an ounce.

It was previously traded on a lower session at $1824.60 an ounce.

 

Stocks in the United States closed higher by the end of trading on Tuesday, as they accompanied the indices to the upside, recording gains in the oil and natural gas, basic materials, and industries sectors.

At the end of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.28%, equivalent to 91.31 points, to close at 32850.57 points, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose by 0.10%, equivalent to 4.32 points, to close at 3821.98 points. , while the Nasdaq index rose by 0.01%, equivalent to 1.10 points, to close at 10,547.13 points.

 

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the benchmark Nikkei index fell, and fell by 0.08% to 26547.17 points, while the broader Topix index settled at 1905.56 points.
